Vicars v Curates Cricket Result!

As part of the Festival f Faith a fun time was had by all at the first Vicars and Curates Village Cricket Match…. Vicar’s won, due to the brilliance and sportsmanship of the opposing team who were magnanimous in defeat. The  return leg will be played next year. What a wonderful evening!

Thank you to everyone who came, who played, supported, cheered, baked and cooked to make it such a fun event, one now firmly fixed in the Village calendar. A special thanks to Lee Booth the organiser, and to the Cricket Club for their hospitality.

A Taste of Spring

Thurstonland Community Choir invite you to join them at the

Taste of Spring

A Ploughman’s Supper with food and drink sourced from some of our finest local producers and a performance of John Rutter’s a Sprig of Thyme suite of folk song arrangements.

As we are raising money for the installation of the village defibrillator – a key aid to save lives, all our suppliers have generously donated, and we hope that the whole village will come out to support us.

Where else could you get a high quality supper with all drink and a concert  for only £7.50 while also potentially saving lives?

Tickets from any choir member or via Angela or Robin Carmichael on 666294.

Community Choir & Forget Me Not Hospice

The Choir raised £342 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice through its Christmas concert and carol singing. The photograph above shows Sammie Robertson from their Development Office who came along to our rehearsal to thank us. We have also received a letter of thanks from the Chief Executive of the Hospice.

Sammie stayed on to sing for the rehearsal and really enjoyed herself, impressed by the friendliness of the choir. We lways give a very warm welcome to new members, so if you feel like a sing on a THursday evening, come along to St Thomas’ Church at 7:30!
